How to Make a Selvage Quilt

Okay, here it is in a nutshell:

1.  Cut a foundation piece the size and shape of your choice.

2.  To attach selvage #1, lay it flat on your foundation, right side up, and sew along the bound edge of the selvage (not the raw edge).

3. Lay selvage #2 (also right side up) above selvage #1, covering the raw edge of selvage #1 with the bound edge of selvage #2.  Sew along the bound edge of selvage #2. Repeat. Trim.

That’s it! Take a look at the photos below, and try different shapes and arrangements. Try making stars with triangles. The sky is the limit!
